100 years later...

Dear reader (you know who you are) I must apologize for the 100 years of absence I had from blogging my life. Truthfully I think I need to be reminded way more often that I do in fact have a blog and blogs are meant for writing. So in an attempt to recap my life since pretty much my birthday, I will jot down the most exciting things that have happened since November.

November brought us my birthday, which is already documented, a fun date night with my hubby, we saw Shrek the musical at the IU auditorium, and Thanksgiving, which brought us Ryan's parents for the weekend!

December brought us Christmas and it turns out Santa didn't forget where we lived after all, although Santa may like me more than Ryan (thanks again for my presents Santa!).... That will all change next year though! and I still have Valentine's Day to make up for it :) We also went to the IU vs Ohio State basketball game. We barely won which made for a really exciting and fun game. I'm glad we got to go and even more happy that we won because I'm a pretty sore loser :)

January brought us our second anniversary and our super fun trip out to the Bahamas to celebrate it! Although it was a little on the colder side, the highlight of that trip was definitely the time we got to spend playing with dolphins. It was such a blast! I am so spoiled it shouldn't be legal. My 29-weeks-pregnant-butt got into a wet suit and was lookin' pretty dang hot for it! haha but it was all worth it! We got to hug, dance, feed and get kissed by the dolphins. Ryan's dolphin was trying to make out with him and my dolphin tried to kiss my boob! Baby G even got kissed by one of the dolphins, and yes, I am going to tell her about that for the rest of her life! Overall a hilarious and memorable experience. Afterward, Ryan and I lounged on the beach reading and snorkeling and then got really brave and tried some Conch fritters. I'm so proud of myself for trying, and kinda liking, them! They are basically sea snail fritters (the little creatures that live in conch shells look like really weird snails.) But they chop those up and mix them up in some island style batter and deep fry them to perfection. And what is even crazier is that the islanders eat them dipped in FRY SAUCE!? I must say that after eating them I kept burping, thanks pregnancy, but after every time I did I would say "conch fritter". This sounds disgusting, and maybe it is, but it was so funny at the time that it became our inside joke. Ryan and I said that after every time we burped from then on, sometimes changing it up to "pizza fritter" or whatever else we ate. On a less disgusting note, the trip also consisted of spending WAY too much money on food (that's island life for you), lounging for hours on the beach and snorkeling. The water was freezing but we went out anyway. They had some pretty cool fish to see in that beautiful, crystal clear ocean water. I had so much fun spending time with Ryan with nothing to do but relax. I really didn't want to come back, but all good things must come to an end. When we got back from the Bahamas, Ryan took a trip out to Utah to visit his mom and dad. I really wish I could have gone but unfortunately work and finances weren't allowing it. Ryan really enjoyed getting to see his parents and helping his dad out. We hope they know how much we love them and pray for them. The day Ryan got home from his trip we had to go straight to the hospital. Don't panic! All was fine, we just had to start taking our child preparation classes that night there. I can honestly say I learned a thing or two..... enough said about that though! As January winds down I must say nothing else exciting has happened, except for the fact my heartburn has really decided to make a statement and the fact that I now no longer fit in my "big" T-shirts anymore. I have officially moved on to Ryan's wardrobe to lounge in at home, something I know all you preggos out there know a lot about! But thanks for sharing your clothes with me Ryan :)

As to looking forward to February, many things will be happening. We will be finishing up our child birth classes thankfully. I don't know how many more I, or especially Ryan, can take. February is also bringing me a couple of baby showers thrown by my awesome group of friends here in Indiana. I hope they know how much I appreciate the love they have shown me and how excited I am for them! I just wish all my family and friends lived close by so they could share these experiences with me. And who can forget that Valentine's Day is in February?! I HAVE to come up with something good to spoil Ryan with after all the things he has done for me... I can't drop the ball on this one...

As March quickly approaches I realize I still have so much to do. We need to finish the nursery that is slowly, but surely, getting put together, figure out what I'm going to do about my work situation and pick out a dang name for our child!! Something that is much easier said than done it turns out... I can't wait for the exciting new changes coming into our lives though. I can't wait to get pictures of the nursery when it is (finally) done. I can't wait to hold our baby girl for the first time. Today I hit my 33 week mark and all I can think about is how far away 7 more weeks of this sounds... but I know I will need this time to finish our preparations before our tiny bundle of joy gets here and more importantly how fast it really will go. I will just have to practice that thing they call patience... Now if only I knew what that meant. Hopefully I can Google it :)
